it is impossible to have solutions ready availave
on every problem, a number of Frequently Asked Questions
(FAQ) are summarized as follows:
Problems
with:
Adhesion
Curing time too short, allow full cure
72 hours
Proper sanding and cleaning are imperative, many
times cause for adhesion failures.
Use a primer or an adhesion promotor.
Check product list, paint manual, and specialties
Colour
Check color after 24 hours drying time
Dry
time
Coating
should be touch dry in 15-25 minutes. If not, too
much water has been added to dilute. Spray viscosity
should be approx. 40 seconds DIN cup 4.
Ambient paint temperature is lower than 10°C.
Increase temperature.
Relative Humidity is 100 percent, apply proper ventilation
especially in confined areas, overhead bins, etc.
Check color after 24 hours drying time
Fish
eyes or visible cleaning rag stripes
Surface
has not been thoroughly cleaned and/or degreased.
Use INTERPLAN cleaners.
Allow more drying time between cleaning and painting.
Where possible avoid wet cleaning, dry sanding will
do the job in most cases.
Paint
Runs Easily
Do
not apply more than one cross coat at the time.
Check viscosity and ventilation. Both temperatures
of environment and paint should be within the tolerance.
Rough
and coarse topcoat
Ambient
paint temperature is too high, e.g. more than 30°C.
Use Interplan 10SR drying time retarder.
Distance between spray nozzle and object to be painted
has been too much.
Too much air pressure, reduce air pressure.
Too small nozzle.
